Certified Agreement 2004

26.1      The parties are committed to the continuation of the Behaviour Management and Discipline Strategy.


26.2      Effective from February 2004 an allocation of $3 million per annum over the life of the Agreement will be provided to expand the Behaviour
              Management and Discipline
Strategy into targeted primary schools for Years 4 to 7.

              This will enable behaviour management programs to be expanded into 100 primary schools from February 2004 with a further 100 primary schools
              joining in 2005.

26.3      Effective from February 2004, a further $3.5 million per annum over the life of the Agreement will be provided to expand the Behaviour Management
              and Discipline
Strategy into 30 targeted secondary schools for Years 8 and 9.

              This funding is in addition to the $7 million per annum already provided in secondary schools.

26.4      The purpose of the monies is to provide inter alia:

                i.    For targeted reduction in class sizes

                ii.   Professional development for teachers to develop skills and knowledge in behaviour management

                      and/or

                iii. Provision of school based staff to provide support for effective classroom management.

26.5    The joint Behaviour Management and Disciplinary Strategy Reference Group will be reviewed and reconstituted as agreed by the parties to include 
            primary representation to enable consultation to occur regarding the allocation of monies and to monitor the overall expenditure of these monies.
